Michael E. Papka is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois Chicago. He founded and now contributes to the Data, Devices and Interaction Laboratory (ddiLab). He is also a Senior Scientist and member of the senior leadership at Argonne National Laboratory. One of his duties is serving as Director of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. His credentials include a Bachelor’s in physics, a Master’s in electrical engineering and computer science, a Master’s in computer science, and a Ph.D. in computer science. His research interests span visualization, large-scale data analysis, high-performance computing, and the development and deployment of research infrastructure in support of science.
